Have you ever gotten lost?

Boy have we. Many times.

But in the course of those unintended departures from the norm, we stumbled upon something essential to our very existence. We found that getting lost leads to the best discoveries in life: A secret powder stash, the perfect campsite, the best combination of hops and grains or even a new favorite beer at your local brewery. It’s also about the people you meet along the way. The beers you cheers, the laughs you share, the stories you create, and tell.

We happened across this little mountain town nestled at the foot of the Tenmile Range years ago, and now Breckenridge, CO has become all of those things and more for us and so many others. In the meantime, it’s enveloped Broken Compass in the warm embrace you only feel in the most tight knit of communities.

And that’s the essence of BCB in a nutshell: Community. It’s a place where everyone feels welcome, where strangers become friends, where you can actually unplug from the constant hum of everyday life and focus on the conversations right in front of you.

Broken Compass Brewing opened its doors on May 30th, 2014, fulfilling a lifelong dream of owners Jason and Jolene Ford. The past seven years have seen BCB grow from a tiny little brewery and taproom off the beaten path to a must visit destination for both Breckenridge lifers and tourists alike, culminating in a brand new taproom opening on South Main Street in winter 2021.

The mountains are an escape for most people, and that’s how they started for us. But as we meandered along the way, sometimes (fine, many times) after a few too many IPAs, we found our true calling here. Crafting truly unique and delicious beers from the choicest ingredients and the finest water in the land and sharing them and our passion for the mountains with every person who walks through our door.

So mosey on up and get a little lost. You never know what you might find.
